NEW HEALTH BENCHMARKS EXPAND OPPORTUNITY FOR IN-PERSON DELIVERY
Virtual Learning Continues After Winter Break
At the December 14th Governing Board meeting, the district's health benchmarks were revised to more closely align to Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS) guidelines. The range for the Moderate threshold for Benchmark 2 - Percent Positivity was expanded to 5-10% positivity. The criteria for the district's overall benchmark threshold at the Minimal level continues to be two benchmarks at Minimal, and the overall threshold to meet the Substantial threshold is extended to three benchmarks at Substantial. Both the Maricopa County Public Health data set and the AZDHS data sets will be evaluated weekly to determine the district's health benchmark threshold. If a new threshold is reached for two consecutive weeks, then a change in delivery model will occur the following Monday. At the Minimal threshold, the delivery model will be traditional, allowing all students to return to school. At the Moderate threshold, some students will learn at home through the choice of Distance Learning or Online School, and some students will learn in person through the choice of In-Person Learning. At the Substantial threshold, the delivery model will be virtual delivery for all students. All Distance Learning and Online School options will continue through the end of the school year.
